Dog showing can start as a hobby and rapidly become a passion. It can completely take over your life in the quest for more wins and/or the perfect show animal. It can also be a great family sport with each member of the family involved in some task in showing like brushing, walking, handling or just applauding their dog while in the ring. The kids might show him in the Junior handling category, while Mum or Dad can show him in the regular classes.

If you don't get too serious, they can be a very enjoyable day out. Many people take their showing extremely seriously - to win is above all else. Try visiting a few shows and watching what happens before you make the decision to test your own hand.
